LAU and MEPI fund YWL teams in the Gulf States
The Lebanese American University (LAU) and the Middle East Partnership Initiative(MEPI) have granted the YWL teams in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Yemen funding to support the proposed activities.
The Bahrain YWL group is focusing on the issue of “The Utilization of Employees’ Money with GOSI after Death”. The group is in the implementation phase and has already conducted several public meetings along with the Bahrain Women Union to advocate for the cause. Click here for related links
The Yemen YWL group is targeting “Advocacy Campaign to Increase Girls Enrollment in Primary Education”. The group is launching activities with schools, parents, and students to encourage girls’ enrollment in several schools in Yemen.
The Saudi Arabia YWL group is working on “Improving Saudi Women Status in Workplace and Small Business”. The group is working closely with universities’ fresh graduates to introduce small business grants and means to improve women status at the workplace.
All the three YWL groups are establishing a network in respective countries to build the capacity of beneficiaries and to advocate the leadership skills of women across the Arab Gulf Region.
