YWL Graduation Reception and Closing Ceremony- August

Participants graduated in a special closing ceremony attended by his
Excellency Ambassador of Yemen in Lebanon Mr. Faisal Ameen Abu Ras and her
Excellency Ambassador of the United States in Lebanon Mrs. Michele Sison as
well as U.S. Cultural and Social Attaché Jennifer Williams. Featured in the
ceremony was an 18 minutes short documentary about the program. President
of LAU welcomed and addressed the participants as well as Ambassador Sison.
Both expressed their support for programs that aim to empower women in the
Arab World. Ambassador Sison expressed her appreciation for projects
sponsored by MEPI in the region and promised to share her enthusiasm about
the YWL with the Embassies in the Gulf. Attended the ceremony were invitees
from various Arab NGOs such as “Arab Thought Institute” and “Center for Arab
Research and Development”
